Kerala tourism body to hold road show in Doha

DOHA KERALA State Tourism Authority (KSTA) will hold a road show in Qatar soon, Kerala Minister for Tourism AP Anil Kumar announced at press conference on Thursday.

Kumar was in Doha to attend the official launching of a Kerala expatriate forum Wandoor Area Friends Association (WAFA).

He said: “Kerala is an Indian state with high tourism potential. Kerala government has identified many sites with historical importance. Development of such sites will not only be a boost to the tourism sector but will also provide investment opportunities for non-residents Indians.” The minister added: “As part of efforts to develop tourism sector in Kerala, government has offered different incentives to attract non-resident Indians to invest in the state. Government has announced special privileges for Indian expatriates who invest more than Rs100 million in tourism sector in Kerala.” He said the road shows conducted for the first time in this region in Dubai and Saudi Arabia was a huge success.

“In association with tour and travel operators both in Kerala and Qatar, Kerala Tourism Authority will organise road shows in Qatar, Muscat and Kuwait shortly. The number of tourists visiting Kerala from the Arab region has increased in last few years,” he said.

The delegates who had participated in ‘Emerging Kerala’- an Indian expatriate investor’s meet in Kerala recently, also discussed the various tourism investment projects in Kerala.

WAFA office-bearers Vandoor Aboobacker, Zakkir Hussain, PK Musthaffa and VP Sreejith were also present at the press conference.
