Sri Padmanabhaswamy Temple

Sri Padmanabha Swamy Temple is situated near the KSRTC Bus Stand at east Fort in trivandrum, Kerala. The Presiding diety is Mahavishnu reclining on the serpent ‘Anantha’ The architectural work in this temple is famous. The Ottakalmandapam ( Made of single stone) is a special attraction. The rulers of Travancore were called padmanabhadasan.

Today this is the richest temple in the world. Treasures of Gold, diamonds, emeralds etc were stored in the temples store rooms for centuries before it was opened for accounting recently.

Attukal Trivandrum

Attukal temple is situated only 2 kms from the city centre in trivandrum, Kerala.  Pongala ( a rice porridge) is the favourite offering to the goddess here. The famous pongala festival is celebrated during the Malayalam Month ‘Kumbha'(between feb-march)

People throng here from far and wide on the occasion of this festival. The entire city roads are blocked to facilitate the faithful to offer Pongala on this day.

Sangumugham beach Trivandrum

Sanghumugam:

The Sanghumugam beach lies on the western part of Trivandrum City. The huge sculpture of a nymph made by famous sculptor Kanayi Kunjiraman, a Star shaped restaurant etc are the special attractions of this place. The International Airport and a flying club are located nearby.Fishing done in coastal waters by local fishermen is an attractive scene from this place.
